  2. Opinion Paragraph-1 EQ: What are the characteristics of a well written opinion paragraph?

  3. Opinion Paragraph-1 Notes An opinion paragraph tells what the writer feels about a topic. It states an opinion in the topic sentence. It uses reasons and details to explain the opinion.

  4. Opinion Paragraph-1 Do you think that Charlotte should have been allowed to prove her competence as a sailor by climbing to the top of the yard, or should someone have stopped her from performing this hazardous feat?

Opinion Paragraph-Drafting-2 Guidelines for writing an opinion paragraph. • Begin with a topic sentence that clearly states your topic and opinion about this topic • Provide strong reasons that explain, or support, your opinion. • Give details that explain each reason. Include facts and examples. • Let the audience hear your voice. Tell how you really feel. • Restate your opinion and sum up your ideas in the last sentence.
