  2. Are you having trouble getting your car in gear?

  3. There can be many reasons for such a problem, but it’s not necessary to panic. Here are five reasons why you may be facing such a problem.

  4. Issue #1- Transmission is low on lube

  5. The transmission of your Audi needs lube for the following purposes; Keeping gears adequately greased Providing adequate pressure Maintaining optimal temperature

  6. If its level declines, your car will have a hard time going into gear.

  7. Issue #2- The clutch is at fault (manual)

  8. The clutch is the link between the engine and the transmission.

  9. If something bad happens to it, the transmission will stall and behave oddly.

  10. Issue #3- Problematic torque converter (automatic)

  11. Only automatic transmissions are equipped with the torque converter; • Which by the way is a fluid coupling device.

  12. And, yes… a fault in this part can contribute to shifting-related problems in a car.

  13. Issue #4- Bad gear shifter assembly

  14. The gear shifter assembly allows the driver to switch gears in a car.

  15. So, obviously…. if it goes bad, you will struggle to change gears in a car.

  16. Everyday wear and tear Faults that can contribute to gear shifter assembly failure are; • A defective shift selector cable • Installation-related errors

  17. Issue #5- Car is in limp mode

  18. Your car won't go into upper gears if it is in limp mode.

  19. You need to first get it out of limp mode by identifying and fixing the problem.

  20. Long Story Short…

  21. Any of the above said problems can cause shifting-related problems in a car. You need to find out what's wrong before it takes a turn for the worse.
