  1. Behaviour Towards Parents Qur’an Appreciation Maryam Moghaddam-Ghadimi

  2. In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful And your Lord has commanded that you shall not serve (any) but Him, and goodness to your parents. If either or both of them reach old age with you, say not to them (so much as) "Ugh" nor chide them, and speak to them a generous word.

  3. And make yourself submissively gentle to them with compassion, and say: O my Lord! have compassion on them, as they brought me up (when I was) little. Sura al Israa’ (17-23:24)

  4. In the Holy Qur’an, Allah states that you should not even say ‘Uf!’ to your parents. Metaphorically translated, it not only means that you shouldn’t say ‘Uf!’,

  5. but it also means that you should not roll your eyes (or make any of the other disrespectful gestures), talk back, or raise your voice over theirs.

  6. A lot of us talk back to our parents every day, without meaning to. Maybe sometimes you just say things because you’re angry, or you’re tired, or you say something without thinking that it could be rude. Of course, your parents consider it back-talking.

  7. The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his family) said: “One who follows the orders of Allah with regards to his obeying parents shall have two doors of Paradise opened up for him. And, if there happens to be only one parents, one door of Paradise shall open for him. Kanzul ‘Ummal, Vol 16, Pg 67

  8. Imam as-Sadiq (as) has said: “Allah shall not accept the prayers of a person who looks at his parents with hatred, even if they have been unfair to him!”Al-Kafi, Vol 4,Pg 50

  9. When your parents are older and need your care, don’t send them away to an old-peoples’ home.Think about this: did your parents give you away to an orphanage when you were a baby and you needed someone to take care of you?

  10. The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his blessed household) has said: “Be good to unto your parents, and in turn your children shall be good unto you.”

  11. There was once a man whose parents lived with him and his family. Every night, when he came back from work he would bring milk,

  12. and would first give it to his parents, and then to the other members of his family.

  13. One night he came home very late and his parents were already asleep. He left the milk by their beds and waited until they woke up themselves and drank it.

  14. Only then did he feed his family.

  15. THE END Hope you enjoyed!
