  4. Our goal: to shape the future of the Historic Brookland Park community by capturing the stories of local Unsung Heroes.

  5. Teams of local youth and adults...

  6. ...bring the stories of senior adults

  7. …to life through the arts! 

  8. Promoting:      - intergenerational          connectivity       - the practice        of oral history  

  9. Participants:        -30 Senior                    Adults        -12 Youth

  10. Community listening

  11. Celebrating past and future

  12. Community cohesion

  13. Coming in 2018 as...

  14. All youth  programs will transition to resident leadership! Kevin Starlings

  15. The Music Team: In January this team will write a song and record a music video that captures the history of the Brookland Park community. 

  16. The Writing Team: Residents will research the stories of unsung heroes who shaped their community and discover how these stories of the past and present can shape the future of their neighborhood. 

  17. The Radio Broadcast Team: This team will work with a professional radio broadcaster to professionally record 6 stories that emerge from the efforts of our storytelling and writing teams.   

  18. The Drama Team: Youth and adult residents shape the stories mentioned above into a stage production. The performance will be hosted at Pine Camp next June. We hope you will all attend!  ...​stay tuned
