  2. Cactus The cactus leaves are the sharp spines. A desert plant with spines.

  3. Cacti Cacti have thick waxy stems. They store water in these stems. Two or more desert plants with spines.

  4. Woodpecker The woodpecker uses its hard bill to make holes in tree trunks as it looks for food. A bird that climbs on the trunk of a tree and hammers with its hard bill.

  5. Saguaro Cactus A tall cactus that looks like a person with hisarms up. The saguaro cactus is only found in Arizona and a small part of California.

  6. Lizard Lizards communicate with body language. They have good eye sight and see in color. A reptile with a long body, 4 legs and a long tail.

  7. Flower The blossom of a plant. It is colorful and has petals. The saguaro flowers bloom at night.

  8. Hotel In Kenya there is a hotel in the treetops. There is a tree house hotel near Mount Rainier National Park. A place to spend the night when you are away from home.

  9. Forest There are 3 types of forest. There are coniferous forests, deciduous forests, and tropical rain forests. An area of land covered with trees.

  10. Paloverde The seeds can be ground and used as flour. A desert tree or shrub.
