  2. Location My state is Kansas. My state is in North America . My state is also in the Midwest region. The states that surround my state are Iowa witch is a little east and north of state. Missouri is clearly east to me while Nebraska is north of me . Colorado is west of Kansas

  3. Fun Facts The state incest is the honey bee- above and the state animal is a bison that was below and Kansas is home to the biggest ball of twine! Kansas is the 15 largest state in area. The state flower is the sunflower. Topeka is the capital name.

  4. Tourist Attractions • Some places you would like to visit in Kansas would be the worlds biggest ball of twine!!!!!! Also in Kansas Bonner Springs holds the award for largest farming state. In the same spot holds the art work of 3 peoples art work such as, Thomas Jefferson, John Deere and George W. Bush. And people would like to visit these places because they are fun to see and some of the top most facts known about Kansas. At the top of the state court house you will see where governor is. Also inside the room is a model of the liberty bell . Another famous figure is Big Brutus. The monument rocks are a natural landform of Kansas.

  5. STATE HISTORY • Kansas became apart of the U.S.A as the 34 state in 1861and Topeka was the name of the capital chosen. Kansas was bought by the united states Louisiana in 1803. And in 1984 Kansas basketball All American Lynette Woodard was named captain of the basketball team that wins Olympic gold medals.Another

  6. Other facts!!! • The population of major cities are that in Topeka there are 122,377 people living in there! Kansas origin of state name means from the Kaw or Kansas, tribe a Native American term meaning “people of the south wind”. The hottest and coldest temps in Kansas 121°f for the hottest temp and for the coldest temp is -40°f.

  7. Things I like about my state! • What I like about my state is that it has a native term meaning people of the south wind. And that Kansas is known for the sunflower state and its high produce in natural gas

Natural Resources Some natural resources are oil, coal, hay ,corn , wheat, sugar beats and well agriculture also known as farming , cattle [ cows ], salt ,soybeans , barley different types of oats, sorghum , rye, natural gas. Lots of different type of resources grow in Kansas. Such as the above.

  9. Wildlife Have you ever wondered what animals live in Kansas? Well the state insect is the honey bee and the state amphibian is the Barred tiger frog .There is over 20,000 different kinds on inverbrates in Kansas.429 birds and 30 amphibian types! Some endangered animals are the bald eagle , whooping crane the state animal is the American buffalo you will see a dog as well.

  10. Famous People • A famous person from Kansas is a baseball legend, Walter Johnson he was one of the many rock star pitchers! His team, the Washington Senators at the win of 416 wins that lead there team to the hall of fame. Amelia Earhart was the first woman to fly a plain across the Atlantic ocean. Earhart completed the trip in 14 hours and 56 minutes. Back then only men were brave enough to fly a plain and to this day on she is very membered . And also Stan Kenton, a famous jazz musician who lived 1911-1979 who he clamed to be the inventor of modern music.

  11. Agriculture • A couple crops are grown are natural gas witch only really grown in the southern part of Kansas. While on the other hand wheat grows all through out Kansas cause Kansas is mostly a big farm. Many farming places. Back in 1870, slaves were the people who were farmers . Many African Americans came west in search of a new life. More then 15,000 slaves landed in Kansas in the year 1879
