It was my sin Christ died for. (1 Peter 2:24) He himself bore our sins in his body on the tree. (1 Peter 3:18) For Christ died for sins once for all , the righteous for the unrighteous , to bring you to God . What it means to Repent (Believe) in Jesus Christ.

  1. It was my sin Christ died for • (1 Peter 2:24) He himself bore our sins in his body on the tree. • (1 Peter 3:18) For Christ died for sins once for all, the righteous for the unrighteous, to bring you to God.

What it means to Repent(Believe) in Jesus Christ • I used to trust in ME – that I must earn or deserve forgiveness and heaven. • Being nice/Doing good • Religious rituals • I must change and trust in Jesus Christ that he died for my sin and rose again. • Not trusting in anything about me or religion

  3. Make disciples and Baptize them • (Matthew 28:19-20) Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, {20} and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you.”

  4. Water Baptism • (Acts 2:41) Those who accepted his message were baptized... • (Acts 8:12-13) But when they believed Philip as he preached the good news of the kingdom of God and the name of Jesus Christ, they were baptized, both men and women. • (Acts 8:38) Then both Philip and the eunuch went down into the water and Philip baptized him. • (Acts 10:47-48) "Can anyone keep these people from being baptized with water? They have received the Holy Spirit just as we have." • (Acts 16:31-33) They replied, "Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved--you and your household….{33} then immediately he and all his family were baptized. • (Acts 18:8) …and many of the Corinthians who heard him believed and were baptized.

  5. Forgiven = Sin is Cancelled, taken Away, Nailed to the cross • (Colossians 2:13-14) When you were dead in your sins … God made you alive with Christ. He forgave us all our sins, {14} having canceled the written code, with its regulations, that was against us and that stood opposed to us; he took it away, nailing it to the cross.

  6. The Holy spirit lives in us ! • The Holy Spirit dwells in us for our assurance. (John 14:17-18) …He will give you …the Spirit of truth…. he lives with you and will be in you. {18} I will not leave you as orphans; • The Holy Spirit dwells in us for our accountability. (1 Corinthians 6:18-20) Flee from sexual immorality… {19} Do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; {20} you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your body. • The Holy Spirit dwells in us to give us ability(Galatians 5:22-23) But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, {23} gentleness and self-control.

  7. Be Saved! (Acts 2:40) • Greek translation option – Save yourselves • Greek language option – Be saved * Greek Imperative– It’s a command. We must act. We must choose to trust in Jesus Christ. = We choose Greek Passive– It’s something God does to us. Salvation is His work that transforms us when we trust in Christ. = God saves
