A little bit of history... 2004 & 2005 • Workshop delivered by NCVO (National Council for Voluntary Organizations, UK) • Translated and published “Approaching Quality: a guide to the choices you could make” • NGO coalition “Kvalitet.ba” (Quality.ba) 2006 – 2010 • Exploring different quality approaches • Cooperation with SMART, CNVOS, Institute for Standardization and metrology of BiH

  3. We have started! • 2009 - start of implementation of Pilot Phase by CSPC, supported by USAID and in cooperation with SIQ • “Slovenian model” accepted – NGO Quality Standard 2008, based on the ISO 9001:2008 standard and some foreign systems designed exclusively for NGOs

  4. Pilot Phase participants ADI, Sarajevo Mozaik, Sarajevo Plava sfera, Banja Luka DON, Prijedor Ključ budućnosti, Ključ OKC, Banja Luka Infohouse, Sarajevo LDA, Mostar IBHI, Sarajevo CGS, Livno Vesta, Tuzla SIRL, Sarajevo FDL, Sarajevo CIPP, Zvornik CPCD, Sarajevo

  5. What we have now? • 23 certified Internal Auditors of Quality Assurance Systems for NGOs 10 certified • 10 certified Managers of QMS (Quality management System) in NGOs, and • 10 certified QMS Leading Auditors in NGOs • Experience and knowledge from study visit to Slovenia

  6. Next steps • Certification • Promotion (CSOs, government, donors, businesses, general public) • Spreading of the intiative to larger group of CSOs • Cooperation with similar initiatives in the region
