  3. Creation Story. The World was created from the remains of the Ymir who was giant. The three brothers, ODin, Vili and Ve dragged the dead body of Ymir in the center of Ginnungagap, these is the place where the three brothers created the world from the remains of Ymir. •  His blood was transformed into the oceans and the water. • His flesh became the land. • His bones became the mountains. • His teeth made into the rocks. • His hair became the grass and the trees. • They throw his brain in the air and It became the clouds. • His skull became the sky. • The brothers grabbed some of the sparks shooting out from Muspelheim. (The land of fire). They threw the sparks up toward the inside of the skull. These sparks gleamed at night and was the stars.

  4. ART AND SYMBOLISM. Old Norse, the language of the Vikings, is a North Germanic language spoken in many different areas. It is also called Runic. try writing your name in runic.

  5. MAJOT TENETS/BELIEF. • Some of the gods you may know are Thor, Odin, And Loki. Odin is the all-father which is basically the king of gods. he is known as the bringer of war, a sage of wisdom, and the keeper of souls slain in battle. Thor is the god of thunder, lightning, storms and a couple of others. Loki is known as the trickster god because sometimes he helps gods but then turns on them and can shapeshift

  6. AFTERLIFE. In Norse religion used to believe that the afterlife you reached would depend on how you lived your life. They believed that the brave warriors who fell in the battle would reap the most reward in the afterlife. That’s why many Vikings walked into the battle without fear. if you weren’t warriors you had an opportunity for an afterlife too. Vikings would wait for seven days before THE FUNERAL/celebration. These day all Vikings would drink the ale which has the meaning, of the passing of any property to another after the death.

  7. STORY TIME. • The Vikings believed that the world would end one day, they called this day Ragnarok. Ragnarok is the doom of the gods and men. It will be the final battle between the Aesir and Jotuns. The battle will take place on the plains called Vigrid. During Ragnarok, the walls of Asgard and the Bifrost will be set on fire by Surt the fire giant. The Midgard Serpent will rise from the tu sea and engulf the Vigrid plains, while it splashes its tail and sprays poison in all directions, causing huge waves crashing towards the land. The wolf Fenrir will break free from his chains and spread death and destruction. The sun and the moon will be swallowed by the wolfs Sköll and Hati. Even the world tree Yggdrasil, will shake the ground. There is nothing the gods can do to prevent Ragnarok. Odin’s one relief is he knows that Ragnarok, will not be the end of the world.
