The sea level issues • Sources of sea level change: • Thermal expansion (thermosteric effect)  basin-scale effect? • Halosteric effect (changes in salinity compensated by 3) • Mass addition: It’s due to E-P-R-B-G (mass budget of the Med Sea) changes. • Dynamical: due to change in circulation • Change of near-Atlantic sea level due to all the processes including ice melting (glaciers or ice sheets)
