  28. June 2003 Q2R Vacuum Leak • Leak started about 16:00 on Friday 27 June 2003 • Sig 9 and Sig 11 diodes indicate LER backgrounds. • Upstream LER cold cathode gauge VGCC3027 shows increase in pressure. • He leak check gives no indication. • When radial ion pump VP3012 was on it reduces A-side pressure indicating leak is on B-side (incoming LER) • Sat. eve leak checked flooding Support Tube with He. • Radial pump VP3012 failed after leak check on Sat. • Leak gets worse over holiday week. • Water seen on RGA on A-side. • Water to vacuum leak found in B-side Q2 vacuum chamber on Monday 7 July. New smooth chamber was in service since Nov. 2002. • VP3012 resistance increasing over days, but still too low. • Other water circuits checked ok. • Replaced chamber with original. • September startup not affected due to early NEG activation MAC Review – IR 2 Status
