  1. The fourth class presents: OUR WONDERFUL VILLAGE: RIPALIMOSANI

Hello friends,we are 16 Italian students, in the fourth class.We stay at school from 8:15 to 13:15, from Monday to Saturday.Our school manager is Marina Crema.Our teachers are Anna Maria, Maria Concetta, Maria, Amalia and Gina.We study Italian, English, History, Geography, Math, Science, Art, P.E., Music and Religion.In our school there are students, from 3 to 13 aged.

  3. Our Village We live in Ripalimosani, a small village near Campobasso; Campobasso is the main town in Molise. Molise is one of the 20 Italian regions.

  4. OUR WONDERFUL VILLAGE: RIPALIMOSANI

  5. Ripalimosani In Summer the weather is hot In Winter the weather is cold and snowy In our village there are about 3000 inhabitants.

  6. This is the coat of arms of our village Ripalimosani was built around the year 1000

  7. This is Saint Michael square

  8. The war memorial,called “the Heroes' House” was built in 1992, in memory of the fallen of the first and of the second world war. It is near our school.

  9. In St. Michael square there is the Croceviaria, built in 1562. It is high more than three metres

  10. This is the fountain Irma. It is in San Michele square. It was forged in Paris in 1900. In ancient times the women came here to take the water.

  11. This is Saint Maria Assunta church, built in 1500. The beautiful bell tower is high 47 metres and it was built in 1463

  12. The Holy Shroud’s copy, revered in the S. Maria Assunta, is a very rare historical document. The Duke, Carlo Emanuele of Savoia, gave it to his father-in-law, King of Spain, Phillip II, in 1594 . This is the organ inside the church

  13. The palazzo marchesale was built around the year 1000. The local lords lived here. There was also a jail called " cafurchio" without light.

  15. This is the convent, St. Pier Celestino, built between 1000 and 1100. It is one of the most ancient convents in Molise . In the convent there are the cloister and the library, with many ancient manuscripts

  16. Saint Lucy street is in the historical centre. It is long 100 metres and wide 12 metres.

  19. The historical centre Few people live in the historical centre. Lots of inhabitants live in the new buildings, in the villas and in the cottages. In summer, a fantastic party (wine glasses under the stars) is organized in these streets, with local wine, typical dishes and music.

  22. These are the new buildings, built between 1970 and 1980. This area is called “ big rock” “Morgione” These are the new villas, built between 1970 and 1980. This area is called “pomegranate village” Villaggio Melograno

  24. This building is called “neviera.” In ancient times, in winter, the snow was put here, to turn into ice. The ice was covered with the straw. In summer the ice was used to cooling the drinks and to making the ice cream.

  25. This is the municipal theatre. In ancient times, in this area, many men, women and children worked, making ropes, with wooden wheels. The ropes were sold to neighbouring villages. In summer in the theatre we watch showing and performances . In the theatre there are 900 places for audience.

  26. In our village there are these sports facilities: a football field , where our team plays on Sundays, a basketball stadium, where the basket team “Maccabi” plays, on Sundays , a five side football field and a bowling rink.

  27. The “Madonna della neve “ church is situated on the hill in the countryside, in the district Quercigliole, not far from Ripalimosani., The chapel was built in 1651. On the first Sunday of July, at five o’ clock in the morning, the statue, with lots of people in procession, reaches to the Church Santa Maria Assunta. On the 11th of August, the statue goes back to the chapel in the countryside. The most popular festival takes place on the 11th and on the 12th August in the countryside. In ancient times

NEWS • At Ripalimosani there is a great industrial area with many factories and shopping centers. • There are: • furniture factories, typographies, shoe shops, supermarkets, shopping centre, showrooms car, a coffee factory, iron and aluminium factories, motor parts shops, a paint factory, paint shops, covering and floors shops, building firms, building materials, carpentries, a mill, bakeries, a dairy, pasta factories, a truffles factory, a feed factory, computer shops, a brewery, a nursery (plants), a beauty shop. • There are seven restaurants, two pubs and a music club, a B&B, an hotel. • In the village centre there are four supermarkets, four butchers’, a jeweller’s, five bar, a pub, pizzeria, two tobacconists’, an undertaker’s, two newspapers kiosks, three hairdressers’, a barber, two surgeries, a chemist’s, seven clubs, a polyphonic chorus, an editing “IL GAZZETTINO”.
