HamptonRoads PMI ChapterAdvisory Panel Janet Burns Mission The Hampton Roads Advisory Panel is the connection between PMI and companies and organizations located in the chapter’s geographic area. The mission of the panel is to ensure that PMI is aware of and responsive to the project management needs of the organizations we serve, and that they are aware of the project management profession, its benefits and accepted practices.

Quality in Projects • A two day course presented by the Hampton Roads Chapter of PMI • Presents a basic model for managing project quality, including quality planning, quality assurance, quality control, and continual improvement • Intended for both new and experienced project managers and members of project teams. Friday March 18 and Saturday March 19 $125.00 per attendee by February 19th

  19. Vision The PMI Hampton Roads Chapter will be recognized as a dynamic organization of Professional Project Managers dedicated to serving the business and educational community of Hampton Roads through the advancement of Project Management.

Goals for 2005 Strategic Objective #1 - Advance the mission and objectives of the Project Management Institute 2005 Goal: Participate in Region 18 Leadership Retreat Activities Strategic Objective #2 - Develop a growing and committed membership of local Professional Project Managers. 2005 Goal: Expand the use of committees and volunteers Strategic Objective #3 – Create and deliver an educational program that strengthens local Professional Project Manager's skills 2005 Goal: Continue the PMP Preparation Classes in 2005. 2005 Goal: Hold seminars that are relevant to project management needs in Hampton Roads.

Goals for 2005 Strategic Objective #4 – Enhance Project Management Professionalism by providing quality programs based on regional Project Management needs. 2005 Goal: Continue to provide quality monthly programs. Strategic Strategic Objective #5 – Promote Professional Project Management principles and techniques with local businesses, universities and professional associations. 2005 Goal: Promote involvement of members companies’ decision makers in our chapter via the Chapter Advisory Panel. 2005 Goal: Expand support and involvement with community organizations, local businesses and educational institutions (secondary and post-secondary) 2005 Goal: Increase cooperation with other PMI chapters and the Region 2005 Goal: Partner with other professional organizations, such as INCOSE, AITP, SAME, etc.
