  3. 2. Introduction • We recognized the problem of current e-cash System. So we analyze the current situation of e-cash at the point of management and technology • Especially the Korean environment of implementing the e-cash.

Definition of e-cash • In a broad sense, everything digitized that has the function of money • In a narrow sense, virtual money allowing real-time payment over the internet – in cases of B2B, B2C, C2C transactions • Two types of e – cash • Network type : Supporting the electronic payment system using the value that is transmitted and stored to the PC from cyber bank • Smart card type : Plastic cards embedding chips which involve the value and user’s information

Comparison with other devices • Credit Card • Used widely - Almost everyone has one • Used for many years. • Most merchants accept it. • e-cash • Less transaction cost • Non - acceptance from mass consumers and merchants in the market place yet. • Secure, paperless and fast • Be used in real and cyber stores • Need incentives to replace credit cardsused widely • Conventional money • General payment means • Ensure 100% anonymity • Secure
