  1. CBD vs. THC: What’s the Difference?

  2. Chemical Structure Both THC and CBD have exact same molecular structure: 21 carbon atoms, 30 hydrogen atoms and 2 oxygen atoms. A slight difference in how the atoms are arranged accounts for different effects on the body. Both CBD and THC are chemically similar to the body’s endocannabinoids. It allows them to interact with cannabinoid receptors. This interaction affects release of neurotransmitters in the brain.

  3. Psychoactive Components Despite similar chemical structures, CBD and THC don’t have same psychoactive effects. CBD is psychoactive, just not in same manner as THC. It doesn’t produce high associated with THC. CBD vape disposable is shown to help with anxiety, seizures, and depression. THC binds with cannabinoid 1 (CB1) receptors in the brain. It produces high or sense of euphoria. CBD binds weakly to CBD 1 receptors.

  4. Legality In the US, cannabis related laws are evolving regularly. Technically, CBD is still considered Schedule 1 drug under federal law. However, 33 states plus Washington DC have passed cannabis related laws, making medical cannabis with high levels of THC legal. The cannabis may need to be prescribed by licensed physician. Many states have made recreational use of cannabis and THC legal.

  5. Medical Benefits THC and CBD have medical benefits. CBD vape disposable provides relief from several of the same condition. However, CBD doesn’t cause the euphoric effects that occur with THC. Some people may refer to use CBD because of lack of side effect. CBD is used in various conditions such as seizures, inflammation, pain, nausea and more.

  6. Side Effects CBD is well tolerated, even in large doses. Research suggest any side effects that occur with CBD use are likely the result of drug to drug interactions between CBD and other medications you may be taking. THC causes mild temporary side effects, such as increased heart rate, coordination problems, dry mouth, red eyes and more. CBD side effects may include appetite changes, fatigue, dizziness, diarhea, etc. However, the side effects aren’t fatal.
