  1. Fix: Microsoft Office Error Code 30170-4 Common Causes 1. Firewall or antivirus interference Security software is blocking the install. 2. Corrupt temporary or Office files leftover from a previous installation. 3. Missing system or Office updates pending patches may interrupt the install. Step-by-Step Fix 1. Temporarily disable firewall & antivirus - Turn off Windows Defender or any third-party AV/firewall completely before installing. 2. Delete temp files - Open C:\Windows\Temp and delete contents. - Then run %temp% in the Start menu and clear those files (skip any in-use). 3. Run System File Checker (SFC) - Open Command Prompt as Administrator. - Execute: sfc /scannow - Fix any issues it reports. 4. Repair or fully uninstall existing Office - Go to Control Panel Programs and Features, select Office, then click Change Repair (or Online Repair on Win 8/10/11). - If repair fails, uninstall completely, reboot, then reinstall Office.
