  1. How your industrial sewing machine is now in every home! Believe it or not, the history of sewing goes back to 20,000 years from today, right from the last ice age for that matter. Many archaeologists have found that needles were used to sew fur and skin together too. Imagine that, right from the prehistoric times! Though the art of sewing was prevalent, it did take a lot of time for the Sewing machine to come to existence though. The first machine was made only by the late 1700s. It was invented by Thomas Saint and was used to sew leather and canvas. It was only till 1860 that sewing machines were used in commercial use and specifically towards the industrial side of the business. Most of the sewing or stitching needs that were required domestically were done by basic tailoring needs. Till the 1920s, Stitching machine were used more from an industrial perspective than anything else. It was used in huge corporations to produce clothing in a big way. This was only shifted towards 'home' utility in the 40s, many commercial brands started producing these machines in large numbers and over the years have become a product that we must have at home.

  2. If you look at it today, what once used to be an industrial product and machine is now used in abundance from a daily use home product. The change has been phenomenal and mainly so because of the ease of usage and the fact that you can create almost anything using cloth, needle and thread. The possibilities are endless and that is what makes it so viable for most of us. We would never have been able to create or grow with such speed if it was not for the kind of dependence we have on machines. The tailoring machine grew in popularity to such huge extents that today it is seen more as a machine that gives you a chance to hone a hobby more than anything else. Even at home, you look towards your old silai machine for a small tear or a rip in your shirt, the ease of using one of these machines has become the biggest advantage it has to boast about. Not just from a domestic purpose but even from the industrial front, sewing machines are made to create clothes for all leading brands. Choose the clothing brand that is present in the market today and they rely completely on industrial tailoring machines. Just like every other industry, sewing has also picked up pace on the digital world. A few years ago, you would never have been able to envisage buying stitching machines over the internet.
