  2. The accomplishments of Classical Chinese civilization Trade • The Silk Road (route west as far as Rome) brought Chinese goods to the west • Products traded included paper, porcelain and silk • Marco Polo used the silk road to get to and from china CLICK HERE

The accomplishments of Classical Chinese civilization • Civil service exams were introduced in the Han Dynasty to allow for qualified individuals to serve in the government • System of writing started with pictograms that developed into calligraphy • Architecture evolved to include pagodas • Flood control via canals and dykes; canals (Grand Canal) were used for transportation CLICK HERE

  4. The accomplishments of Classical Chinese civilization Government The First Dynasty- • The Shang DYnasty (1766 B.C.-1122 B.c.)- Kings controlled small areas. They were likely the Heads of Small Clans. • The Zhou (joh) Dynasty (1122-256 B.c.)- Feudalism- a system of government in which local lords governed their own lands but owed military service and other forms of support to the ruler.
