  1. Student Health • We are a student-focused department. • Our goal is to partner with you in achieving optimal health. • We hope to see you for your health needs and look forward to working with you toward successful completion of your academic journey.

  2. Services Provided • Primary care including physicals • Well Woman exams and family planning, and • Screening for and administration of required • immunizations and TB skin testing • Evaluation and treatment of minor illness and injury. • Counseling

  3. Occupational Exposures: Assessment and treatment of occupational exposures to blood and body fluids or other communicable diseases. If on campus come to Student Health within 2 hours of the exposure, otherwise notify us immediately for directions on how to proceed. No appointment is necessary for an occupational exposure.

  5. Confidentiality of Counseling Services All contacts with a counselor are confidential under Texas law, and we do everything possible to maintain your confidentiality and privacy. Student Counseling services are considered a student service and not part of a UTMB clinics. NONE of our records become part of the UTMB medical record.

  6. Providers Fees Student Health Fees • No charge for professional services for health or counseling visits. • Charges may be incurred for lab, x-ray, medication, immunizations and additional services by other UTMB providers. • ER visits and hospital costs are the responsibility of the student.

  7. Insurance Student Health • The fee that you pay for services at UTMB Student Health is not considered health insurance. It covers services previously discussed. • Students are encouraged to carry health insurance. • UTMB Patient Financial Counseling: 409-772-6464
