  2. Challenge! In pairs use your thinking skills to decipher the 4 main reasons why many Jewish people chose to move to Scotland.

  3. Skills! • Describe, in detail, four reasons for Jewish immigration to Scotland. • Introduction • Four sentences • Conclusion

  4. ARRIVAL • Most settled in • Glasgow, but many • went to live all over • Scotland including • Edinburgh, Ayr, and • Aberdeen. • Tended to form • Jewish communities

  5. ARRIVAL • Lived in tenements • with other immigrant • groups to avoid • attacks • Created own • businesses in Jewish • communities e.g. • bakers

  6. ACTIVITY 1 • Task: • Using the information you have gained, you will be creating a VISUAL revision aid. • Title: • Why did Jewish immigrants settle in Scotland? • Visual: • Comic Strip • Success Criteria: • Included all 4 reasons • Used suitable pictures • Used suitable written descriptions.

  7. ACTIVITY 2 • Task: • WHAT? You will be exploring the impact of Jewish immigrants in Scotland. • HOW? You will read a series of primary and secondary sources, highlighting information. • Success Criteria: • Selected at least EIGHT relevant statements. • Placed these statements under the correct headings: Positive Impact/Negative impact. • Referenced my statements. • Organised my notes e.g. table, mindmap etc.
