A Brief History: • El Burrito Mercado is proudly owned and operated by the Silva Family since 1979 establishing itself as a pioneer and expert in Mexican retail, wholesale, and foodservice. • The Silva family is respected and embraced by the community and they have deep roots in the MN Hispanic community. • It is a Mexican & Latino marketplace which boasts a rich 30yr history of offering an authentic Mexican experience. • For many customers, it is home away from home, and for others, it is a unique Mexican experience. • El Burrito Mercado has received local and national awards, media attention, public recognitions, is a regarded successful business entrepeneur, and is a legend in MN Latino small business history. • They are members of community, non-profit, business boards and commitees, members of the MN Minority Supplier Diversity Council and Hispanic Business Chamber of Commerce.   3. Growing the Brand In 2004 El Burrito Mercado began sourcing co-packers for producing and packaging authentic Mexican foods to be packaged and sold under the brand name of El Burrito Mercado. The product’s quality are held by high standards of the Silva family assuring an authentic Mexican experience. Bernie Purdy with J&J Distributing is the distributor, together they are growing existing products, developing new products, and increasing the promotional support.
