  4. Dowell Road Widening Existing Conditions: • Two-lane roadway section • No pedestrian or bicycle accommodations • Existing roadway safety issues • Substandard horizontal alignment

  7. Dowell Road Widening • ProposedImprovements: • 0.9 miles of two new travel lanes • One continuous 10-foot center turn lane from H.G. Truman Road to Ann Marie Gardens Entrance • New curb and 5-foot sidewalk in both directions • Two new 4-foot bicycle lanes within the Roadway Section • Proposed drainage improvements • Two new stormwater management facilities • Improved turning radii at all cross roads • Improved parking facilities at Grandmother’s Store

  8. Dowell Road Widening • Current ProjectStatus: • Project design has been performed to 90% completion. • Current construction plans have been submitted to permitting agencies for review. Project is currently awaiting comments and/or approval. • Calvert Soil Conservation District • Chesapeake Bay Critical Area Commission • Current Estimated Construction Cost : $4.4 Million, excluding right of way and utility costs.
