  3. 7. Ali’s Dream Meanwhile, Ali had slept fitfully. He had been having strange dreams. In his dreams, he heard the door opening and closing, as if someone was going out and coming in. He dreamt that the hidden treasure had disappeared from beneath the briars. He dreamt that he could hear noises on the roof. He dreamt that he could hear hissing sounds in the hearth. So, unsurprisingly Ali was so tired that he could barely rouse himself for his morning prayer. He could hardly open his eyes. Sleepily, he unrolled his mat next to the hearth and began his morning prayers. Again he prayed for Allah to deliver treasure to him on the hearth. At the end of his prayers, Ali raised his eyes and saw what was in the hearth. His mouth dropped open in amazement. (c) Blackburn with Darwen Borough Council 2009/SEMA/elearning HT_Assessment 7
