  1. 6-3 • Intolerable Acts-passed after the Boston Tea Party. Closed down Boston harbor until payment for tea was made • Replaced elected council with appointed one • Increased the governors power over the colonists • Protected British officials accused of crimes in the colonies from being tried by colonists • Allowed British officers to house troops in private dwellings • First Continental Congress- called because of the Intolerable acts. Voted to ban trade with England until the I.A. was repealed. Also called for states to begin training militia • Lexington and Concord- British troops were sent to these towns to collect guns and ammo and also to arrest Sam Adams. The people were warned before the British got there by the Revere and Dawes. 1st shots fired at Lexington by ???. On return trip to Boston the colonial militia harasses the British troops back to Boston.
