Regression testing plays a pivotal role when it comes to testing the new changes or updates done to code and making sure that the software application is working just fine, despite the new changes being made in the software product or application. In certain or most of the scenarios, regression testing can also be called as retesting of software, wherein the software is retested to make sure that the new changes that have been introduced in the software won’t affect the existing functionalities. Following are the five techniques of regression testing Selective regression testing The effects of the newly added code are analyzed when it is being introduced to the already existing code in the software application. Complete regression testing When the software is introduced with multiple changes, the complete regression testing is used.
