What is Shellac? • It is a resin secreted by female bug on trees. • It is used in place of as oil and wax • It is found mostly in the forest forests of India and Thailand.  • Shows solubility with ethanol • The solid shellac on dissolution with ethanol forms liquid shellac which is used in a variety of purposes.
