  5. Participios de –ER/-IR • The “i” of “ido” has a written accent when preceded by a vowel other than u. • Creer: creído • Leer: leído • Reír: reído • Oír: oídoHuir: huido (sin accento)

  6. Los irregulares • Abrir: abierto • Absolver: absuelto • Cubrir: cubierto • Decir: dicho • Describir: descrito • Escribir: escrito • Freír: frito • Hacer: hecho • Morir: muerto • Poner: puesto • Resolver: resuelto • Romper: roto • Ver: visto • Volver: vuelto

The past perfect tense views an action or state as having occurred —and been completed— at a time prior to another past action, state or time. • The past perfect is NOT used to indicate an action which began in previous past time and is still in progress in (simple) past time; (the imperfect tense is used for this purpose.)
