Antiretroviral therapy (ART) introduced to Kazakhstan in April 2005;Antiretroviral treatment services are restricted to a vertical HIV/AIDS system of AIDS Centers;More then 75% of the patients on ART are IDUs;Only few NGOs involved in AIDS treatment services and little integration between HIV prevention and AIDS treatment services;One third of the patients stopped therapy from the beginning of ART;HIV prevalence is the highest in Karaganda, Pavlodar oblasts and Almaty City.
