  2. Old Bazaar Ankara oldbazaar2 Another view of old bazaar. This is Chikrickcilar street. In old bazaars every street have the name of a profession. chikrickci means the people make round things on a lathe

  3. Old Bazaar Ankara oldbazaar3 There is moderately modern shops too, where you see old and new together. Watch the red brownish dresses at the left of the window. They called Bindalli dress. Young women sometime wear them for special occasions like weddings. Bindallı means with thousend branches of a tree. Figures are gold needle work of branches and leaves of different trees. Almost every province in Turkey have different traditional costumes but bindalli is everywhere. It is the most top one.

  5. Old Bazaar Ankara beadshop3 Beads also used to make a religius item. It is called Tespih. It is a counter. Some very keen religious people make same pray many times and use tespih to coubnt them. I don't know why but they have all 33 beads.

Some parts of it became focused to tourist but there is still streets in it with many traditional shops. of different professions like ladies hat makers, young girls hat makers, uniform hat makers, hat makers for children, hat makers for religious people, industrial hat makers etc. This is just an example of varieties.You name it they have it.
