  1. Grunthal C aring Hands Food Bank Serving the South-East corner of Manitoba. Help support the fight against hunger, and improve the lives of families in our communities.

  2. Steinbach Grunthal St. Malo Badger Vita Sprague USA - Canadian Border Everything inside the GREEN is the catchment area for GRUNTHAL’S “CARING HANDS FOOD BANK.”

  3. Our starting point! “FCC Drive Away Hunger “- October 12, 2011. The GVS Social Justice Committee spear headed this event.

  4. Amazing support!

  5. Their hard work will benefit many, many families!

  6. Together we CAN make a difference!

  7. The Fruits of their labour… Over 8000 lbs of food has been collected by GVS and South Oaks!

  8. Shelving, Sorting, Bagging…

  9. 40 bags were packed for the first distribution day, February 1st, 2012 30 families came through the door on that day.

  10. What’s in a bag? M/L/X-Large: - Cereal - 2 KD - 2 fruit - 3 variety soups - 1 mix veg. - snack • Small: • 1 cake - 1 pasta - 1 sidekick - 2 tomato soups - 1 corn - 1 ready to serve (ie: zoodles)

  11. What else … - 4 links of farmer sausage - 1 package of cheese - 1 loaf of bread Each child receives: 1 pudding, 1 juice box, and 1 granola bar

  12. Working at the food bank!

  13. Statistics: Since Opening on Feb.1, 2012 • 100 families have come through the doors (204 children) • 43 are regular attendees and registered clientele • 148 children are helped regularly

  14. Where? Elim Church The Hut (located at the back) 30 Main Street Grunthal. When? Every other Wednesday 2:00 - 5:00 pm April 3, 17, May 1, 15, 29th etc…
