Can technology support youth-led social change in low-income communities? The Young Activists Network develops tools and methodologies to transform community technology centers into collaborative spaces where youth can address neighborhood challenges and gain recognition for their efforts. With a focus on human connectivity and contextualized technology use, the network operates in Brazil, Colombia, Costa Rica, India, Mexico, the Philippines, and the United States. Plans for 2003-2004 include consolidating the network, offering support tools such as the Young Activists Task Force and Toolkit, and expanding outreach to new communities.
