  4. Sequencing Last summer’s work was “what we knew then” Now we know more…. Teachers have voiced concern over the sequencing and amounts designated in some quarters We need more feedback for this summer’s work SUC SS

Sequencing Please use the Sequencing Of Standards Handouts The first will be used to start from scratch…look at the numbers of targets covered each quarter The second document will be used by the CRW teams to actually move the targets around on the Year At A Glance according to our recommendations

  7. Writing Take 1 minute and write about a time you felt like a real writer Share-out

Comparing the Standards Let’s look at the first College and Career Readiness Standard for Writing “Write arguments to support claims in an analysis of substantive topics or texts, using valid reasoning and relevant and sufficient evidence” Use a marker to highlight any changes you notice as it moves up in the grade levels. What things did you think should be / were taught elsewhere?

  9. Open Ended Responses Let’s compare our writing samples Take a few minutes to review with your table partners the writing samples you brought This is only a process check to see how close we are in the interpretation of our rubric this time.

  10. Have You Heard??? You will each be given a different web site card. card Use your lap tops to visit and preview the site. This will take you to livebinders; click writing tab, then technology trading cards. Scroll down for description of sites. We will be sharing out. Be ready to explain what you learned about your site how it could be used in a 2nd grade classroom.

  11. We will be pairing-up for our share-out You must move at least 5 steps away from where you are currently standing. Partner-up with someone and quickly give an overview of the site you visited.
