  2. Hunger Statistics 1 in 10 Utahans lives in poverty. Utah is ranked fourth in the nation for the highest rate of very low food security in the nation. About 400,000 Utahnsrisk missing one meal every day. More than 134,000 Utahnsreceive food stamps.

  3. Utah Food Bank Collected 30.8 million pounds of food, providing 23 million meals to those in need in 2010. Receives donations from food drives, grocery stores and commercial companies. Always in need of donations……..

  4. What can One Person do? There is always a need to feed! How can we, as SLCC students, help? Comm. 1010 Group service project steps to help hungry families !

  5. Proposal: “Let’s Get Involved” Created team called “Santa’s Helpers” Contact UFB (Utah Food Bank), register online Receive supplies: donation barrels, bags and posters Soliciting local grocers to leave donation barrels Asked stores in community to donate other supplies

  6. Out in the Community…. Door to door collection campaign-hand out flyer attached to UFB plastic donation bag (150) Pick up date December 10th 2011 Collect donations from grocers, from door to door solicitation and deliver to UFB. Mission “Santa’s Helpers” Completed a food drive in community .
