  1. YOURVOTECOUNTS! 2021Election“SPECIALBALLOT-VOTE byMAIL” WHO:All Canadian citizens, 18and overon theday ofelection, areeligible tovote by “Special Ballot”or “VotebyMail”. WHAT:A “SpecialBallot orVoteby Mail” can be requested by allCanadians who willbe outside ofCanada on election day OR Persons not wishing toattenda public “VotingStation”. WHERE:Tovote by mail anywherein Canada, you mustfirst applyfor a Mail-inVoter’s kit either onlineor atany ElectionsCanada office.Areyou eligibletovote? – Elections Canada Once youhaveapplied for a“Special Ballot”or “Voteby Mail” you are no longer able to goto a pollingstation in person.

  2. WHEN: Applicationmust bemade before6:00 PM, September 14/2021toreceiveyour Mail-in Voter’skit. Thekit includesa ballotand a pre-addressedenvelope with prepaid postage. It is importantyour ballot is correctly filled in and POSTMARKEDbefore polls close in yourareato be countedas a VOTE. WHY: Eligible voters have been able to choose the “Special Ballot” option in previous Canadian elections. This time, duetoCovid/Pandemicrelatedconcernsand hesitations, Elections Canada expects tohave 2 to 5 millionVoter’s kit requests,comparedto only50,000 in previous elections. HOW: When you receive your “Special Ballot” you will notice the candidate for your area is not on the ballot. Elections Canda left a blank space, allowing you to fill in your chosen candidate. Youare not requiredto addthe Party of the candidate. If you only mark down theParty in the blankspace yourvote will NOT be counted.
