  1. Overall Value of the Higher National Degree

  2. We all know the importance of the Higher National Diploma and the Higher National Certificate degrees. They are one of the most important degrees that one can ask for while trying to make their value high n terms of the professional field. These degrees help all the students in many ways – while getting a job, while getting a promotion in the job – or while getting an appraisal, these degrees are very important for them. And while we are talking about the same, let’s not forget that HNC and HND in computing give you a very strong foundation of knowledge of computing at its best practice.

  3. What are these Degrees? The HND and the HNC degrees are basically Higher National Degrees that help you improve your skills in one particular platform which eventually help you in the long run as these courses are basically practical. These are work-related, vocational, higher educational qualifications, that are level 4 and level 5 qualifications respectively.

  4. Both qualifications are provided by further and higher education colleges. HNCs take about one year to complete full-time and two years part-time. HNDs take two years full-time and can also be taken part-time, which takes longer.

  5. Progression opportunities All UK universities will accept you on to the 3rd year of a first Bachelor degree course – in a compatible subject degree for example, Business, Computing or Management. However, you also have the option as a mature student to move on to a Postgraduate Diploma course, and then, with some additional work experience move on to a Masters.

  6. The assessment part There are exams held to make sure that you are learning everything the right way. However, there are also practical assignments and projects for you while you are being assessed and when you successfully complete your year and pass out, you will be graded as – pass, merit and distinction. However, if in any case if you are not happy with your own results, you can retake the exam or the practical assessment part once again. All you have to do is, talk to your tutor about it.

  7. The benefit you get Because HNCs and HNDs are designed to give you the skills for a particular field of work, they can lead straight to a career. You can also use the qualifications to progress within your current career to gain professional status.
