  1. Benefits of Completing A HND Course

  2. There are a lot of benefits of completing a HND course because these courses are really beneficial in your journey and the path to your career. A Higher National Diploma – commonly abbreviated to HND – is a higher education vocational qualification that is tailored to provide specialist learning at Level 4 or 5 to develop and further enhance work-related skills and abilities in a particular field.

  3. What does a HND involve? HND courses are composed of sixteen units, and will typically contain four units in each semester. A Higher National Certificate (HNC) is awarded on completion of 8 units. How does the HND benefit you? There are plenty of benefits of the HND courses in Glasgow.

  4. These are the benefits – 1.    Improving the career prospects – The HND course is a high level i.e. Level-5 qualification and it is exactly equivalent to the first 2 years of a first year degree. The best thing about the course is that it focuses on “learning by doing” which improves the practical side of the job profile and the employers know that. This is the reason why you would be on the top of the list for the job if you have completed a HND degree. As these are vocational programs, it can lead you straight to the job even if you haven’t completed a first degree course.

  5. 2.    Works as a stepping stone – It is sometimes the case that an individual may not meet the entry requirements for their chosen degree course and consequently can use the HND as a stepping stone. A-Levels, GNVQs, NVQs, Access Certificate or other level 3 qualifications are all accepted for entry into Higher Diploma. Having completed a Level-5 qualification provides you then with the opportunity to enter into the final year of an undergraduate degree course.3.    Flexible – The best thing about the HND course is that it has a flexible timing. So even if you are working, you can easily study for the HND course. There are two options available for you – part time and full time. You need to make sure you are opting for the time table that suits you.

  6. 4.    Fee – The recent astronomical rise in university tuition fees to £9,000 a year has forced many College graduates to simply give up on their dreams of getting a degree. The tuition fee for a HND, on the other hand, is approximately £5,500. This provides a better opportunity for students to work towards their degrees and gain vital skills and abilities in the process.
