  3. Local Applications • Infrastructure will hopefully begin to take shape in the TO10 Time frame with the introduction of the following: • Command Line Interface (CLI) • TextDB Migration • handleOUP Migration • Subscriptions and Quartz TO9 Fit Briefing - 12/3/2008

GFE Smart Tools, Smart Initializations, Text Formatters and Procedures • Although the GFE infrastructure supports limited migration efforts, we need to start migrating now!!! • 11% of GFE Smart Initialization • 27% of GFE SmartScript functionality • 0% of the GFE Procedures • Limited Text Formatters functionality TO9 Fit Briefing - 12/3/2008

GFE Smart Tools, Smart Initializations, Text Formatters and Procedures • 13151 Unique Tools/Procedures/Utilities at WFOs • 9715 depend on methods tagged “Not Ported Yet” • Some of the 9715 may need to be reworked based on replacement of AFPS.py • Evaluation continues TO9 Fit Briefing - 12/3/2008

  8. D2D Procedures and Bundles • SEC will be forming an IWT to brain storm on how to migrate Procedures from AWIPS I to AWIPS II • Any geographical dependencies should be OBE in AWIPS II with no model clipping. TO9 Fit Briefing - 12/3/2008

  9. Triggers and Crons • In the TO10 timeframe, sites will need to migrate their Triggers and Crons to their AWIPS II eqiuvalents: • Triggers -> Subscriptions • Crons -> Quartz TO9 Fit Briefing - 12/3/2008

Migrating to Velocity Templates • Velocity Template overview • Velocity is a Java based template engine. • Templates contain Text, Variable (references) and the Velocity Template Language (VTL). • Text is output unchanged. • Variable can be Java Objects. • VTL is a scripting language.   13. Migrating to Velocity Templates RiverPro • Raytheon (RTS) has decided to wrap much of Hydro code. • Impact is that RiverPro formatter templates will not need to be migrated. TO9 Fit Briefing - 12/3/2008
