  4. Monitor division safety performance indicators Review actions taken by divisions Comply with: TEEX Safety Guide TEEX Safety Manual TAMUS safety regulations TEEX Responsibilities

  5. Assist divisions & provide safety requirements Monitor division safety performance indicators Serve on TEEX Safety Subcommittee TEEX CoS Operations Assistance Team member Maintain safety records TEEX Safety Officer

  6. Provide leadership and guidance Ensure division compliance with safety guide Designate a Division Safety Officer Implement a safety program Establish risk and accident reduction goals Report & investigate work-related accidents Provide employee safety training Division Director

  7. Assist Division Directors Serve on TEEX Safety Subcommittee Conduct monthly new employee safety orientations (Part II) Ensure employees have appropriate items of personal protective equipment Provide required safety reports to TEEX Safety Officer Division Safety Officer

  10. Risk management is the process of identifying and controlling hazards in order to protect life and property. It is applicable to everything we do in our work environments. Our goal is to make risk management a routine part of planning and preparing for our division missions Risk Management

  11. Identify hazards Assess hazards Develop controls & make risk decision Implement controls Supervise & assess Five Step Process Risk Management Note: Refer to Appendix A of TEEX Safety Guide

  12. Accountability for unsafe conditions rests with the Division Director Employees are accountable for their unsafe behavior or unsafe acts Employees help divisions identify potential unsafe conditions Accidents involving unsafe behaviors and conditions may apply Safety Accountability

  13. Required reports from divisions to TEEX Texas Workers Compensation Commission First Report of Injury or Illness (Appendix B) TEEX Accident Investigation Report (Appendix C) TAMUS Motor Vehicle Accident Report (Appendix D) Reporting

  14. TEEX Safety Officer monitors Accident information submitted by divisions Trend line analyses of measures & indicators Monitoring

  15. TEEX Safety Guide orientation Identify Division Safety Officers TEEX safety website http://teexweb.tamu.edu/safety/ New Employee TrainingPart I (TEEX)

  16. Part II pertains to division-specific safety Conducted by the Division Safety Officer Within 30 days of employment Familiarize new employees with division common hazards & missions New Employee TrainingPart II (Division)

  17. Conducted annually by Division Director All employees attend Two components “TEEX Safety in the Workplace” Division-specific hazards associated with missions/core competencies Refresher Training

  18. Specialized training Remedial training Other Division Training

  19. Chair - DOPs Homeland Security Members include TEEX & Division Safety Officers Quarterly meetings Subcommittee charges include: Analyze safety performance Share best practices Make safety recommendations to the TEEX Director TEEX Safety Subcommittee
