Eeprom image only update • If you already programed Mac Address on your platform and you want to update only eeprom image proceed with following steps: • Get the current eeupdate tool (linux 64-bit version) from the Alpha SW package for GBE from CDI. • Run ./install script from tools folder (not on SVOS) • If you don’t have any additional network cards in the system just run eeupdate tool: • ./eeupdate64e /nic=1 /d eeprom_image_name.hex • Otherwise run ./eeupdate64e command without parameters, find Avoton GbE (first port) on the displayed list and enter it’s number in the /nic flag • Apply power cycle to the platform • WARNING: You should change name of eeprom image to shorter one – eeupdate tool can have problem with long names

Lanconf Tool • If you already programed Mac Address on your platform and you want to update only eeprom image using Lanconf tool proceed with following steps: • Get the current lanconf tool (linux 64-bit version) from the Alpha SW package for GBE from CDI. • Run ./install script from tools folder (not on SVOS) • Run Lanconf Tool: ./lanconf64e • Find Avoton GbE (first port) on the displayed list and enter it • Go to: EEPROM/FLASH -> Raw EEPROM and use F4 key to update eeprom image (do not override mac address when promted) • Apply power cycle to the platform • WARNING: You should change name of eeprom image to shorter one – Lanconf Tool can have problem with long names

  5. Configuring multiple AVN systems • NOTE: for configuring LAN MAC addresses on multiple systems in the same network, use lanconf Raw EEPROM Menu to set the mac address to a different value (1st 6 bytes)
