Enhancing Clinical Decision Support Systems for Improved Patient Outcomes

DESCRIPTION

Decision support systems (CDSSs) integrate individual patient data with computerized algorithms to generate tailored assessments and recommendations for clinicians. These systems can enhance patient care, particularly in managing treatments like oral anticoagulation in nurse-led clinics. Yet, only a limited number of such systems currently exist, which presents a challenge to increasing practices like inpatient influenza vaccination. This synopsis reviews various resources, including clinical evidence databases and guidelines, to support the development and application of CDSSs in clinical settings.
