  6. The MBEA Process • Judging criteria and entry forms online • www.mnethicsaward.org • Submit Entry Electronically • Deadline is March 27 • Judging during April • Finalists notified in late April • Recipients are announced at the luncheon • Awards luncheon – Wednesday, May 14, 2014

Evaluating entries…. • Judging Panel Composition • Roughly 3 from business and 2 academics • Preliminary Panel for each category may forward up to 3 finalists for that category • Finalist Panel reviews all finalists from all categories and selects the award recipient for each size category • Judges rely on the information you submit.

  8. Evaluating Entries • Entries evaluated for each size category • Small (<100), Medium (100-500), Large (>500) • For example, a small company only competes with other small companies.

Required Entry Information Entries are confidential Section 1 – Basic company information Official entry form with Attestation by Executive Section 2 – Mission & Values (What you say you stand for) Section 3 – Ethics & compliance ‘program’ (How you do what you say you stand for) 8 pages Section 4 – Demonstration of Excellence in Stakeholder Balancing Relationships (How well you’ve done it) 6 pages This section very important !!!

  13. Advice for Applicants • Developing your entry can be a great opportunity to “self-examine” your company’s “values in action.” • Tell your own story (judges not looking for some ideal) • Pay close attention to Tab 4 -- “How well you do what you say you stand for.”
