  3. The Dragon Boat Festival This festival is for celebrating in china, and the one with the longest history The dragon boat festival poet is celebrated by boat races in the shape of Dragons competing teams row their boats forward to a drumbeat racing to reach the finish end first. The boat races during the dragon boat festival are traditional customs to attempts to rescue the patriotic Chu Yuan drowned on the fifth day of the fifth lunar month in 277 B.C. Chinese citizens now throw bamboo leaves filled cooked rice rather than the water. Therefor the fish could the rice rather than the hero poet. This later on turned into the custom of eating tzungtzu and rice dumplings. The celebration is a time for protection from evil and dieses for the rest of the year. It is done so by different practices such as hanging healthy herbs on the front door, drinking nutritious concoctions and displaying portraits of evil nemesis Chung kuei. If one manages to stand an egg on its end at exactly 12:00 noon, the following year will be a lucky one. The dragon boat festival in Chinese is Duan Wu.

Also can you believe the Dragon boats are 100 feet long (I can not believe that). Another thing you should learn about the dragon boat races is when other Chinese people are not playing they cheer on another team, also when you’re in the dragon boats they feed the fish rice dumplings. (I thought its cool because you get to race your family and friends). Also another thing that’s cool is the dragon boats look exactly like an real Dragon ill tell you a little about the dragon boat it has scales, teeth, tail, nose and eyes.

  7. The Moon Festival • The Moon Festival is a beautiful festival. It is also called Mid-autumn festival. The Moon Festival is very important to Chinese people just like us. We like Christmas or Hannuka, and they like Moon Festival. The Moon Festival are date of the Autumn Equinox, when the moon is at the farthest point from the earth and the hence appears bright and completely round. It is celebrated around on the 15th day of the 8th lunar month, exactly in the middle of the autumn season. The Moon Festival marks the end of the summer harvest. The Moon Festival had been celebrated since at least the first century. In this time of the year, it looks bigger, brighter, and closer to earth. Children, looks at the silver-goldish face of the moon, imagining all kinds of moon creatures until they fall asleep.

  8. The Shadow Puppets • The shadow puppets were used for at least 1,000 years in China. The earliest shadow puppets were made from paper, but later ones were made from Animal hides. The puppeteers control the movements of the puppets with thin bamboo rods attached to the puppet’s parts. Performances are held at night, with a light source behind the white screen. The puppets move between the light source and the screen so that their colorful shadows appear on the screen.
