  2. ORIGIN OF THE MANGO Mangos are from India, and referred to in Sanskrit literature as Amra which has been under cultivation for more then 4,000 years by man. Hsiian-tsang a traveler in India found the mango and brought it to the attention of the people outside of India for the first time. Akbar the Great planted an orchard of 100,000 mango trees. The mango cultivation is found in Southeast Asia, including; The Philippines, Indonesia, Java, Thailand, Burma, Malaysia, and Sri Lanka.

Recipes/Uses What You Will Need: How to make Mango-Tango Smoothie • 1 Cup Mango, peeled and diced • 1 Cup Plain or Vanilla non-fat Yogurt • ½ Cup Crushed Ice • Milk (Optional) Preparation: Place Mango, yogurt and ice into a blender or food processor; Blend or process it all together. If the after effects are to thick then add milk. This will make 2 servings. Medical Uses of Mango’s Mango’s have insoluble fibres helps eliminate the waste from the colon, which can prevent constipation. The acids in a mango (tartaric, malic, citric acid) helps to maintain the alkali reserve of the body.

  5. Biological Relevance(Physiological) The Biological Relevance was the closest relevance I found. I had no clue what you really wanted with the relevance; either to search it on the internet or from my mind and so I had nothing in my mind that had anything to do with mango’s so I decided to look it up on the web. The physiological relevance of mango peel antioxidant capacity was shown in a study conduced by Ajila and Rao in 2008. Mango peel powder was shown to provide protection against oxidative stress in rat erythrocytes. Hydrogen peroxide-induced oxidative stress was lessened in cells treated by mango peel powder, with membrane protein degradation and morphological changes being less pronounced then the controls. <Hyperlink to another page!
