  2. This is a raccoon sitting all alone in the snow. Fun Facts • A newborn kit is 6 inches and 2 ounces long about as tall and the weight of a big cookie. • Raccoons that live in south parts of North America are awake all year long. • Raccoons prefer to live close to water • When kits are growing up they LOVE to play. They run around and climb up trees. • Raccoons mostly live in only hollow trees.

  3. Habitats • A raccoon is a nocturnal animal. Witch means it searches for food at night time, and sleeps at day time. • The size of a raccoons spot depends on how much food there is in the area. A raccoons home may look like a stump to you but it isn’t.

  4. Looks Like • A raccoons finger becomes much more sensitive then usual wet. So its not very surprising that it seems to enjoy playing with the food in the water. • A raccoon looks its best in the fall and when its winter their coat grows. This is a photo to show what the raccoon looks like.

  5. Family Life • The mom raccoon raises her family by herself. Her husband does no part of her job. • When kits are playing and they get to rough, their mom just scolds them. This is a raccoon family.

  6. Food • When it gets dark a raccoon always heads right for its best eating spot. • Raccoons almost eat everything. But it depends on what they find. • When raccoons eat they don’t begin right away. Often it handles the food for a time. This is a raccoon searching for food.
