  1. Introduction

  2. Status of write-up: • Not yet complete, some analysis (schedule for example) still being worked on (we’ll see first results today): • But, it will be a good report reflecting the enormous amount of excellent work that has been done on the problem • Sections to be completed: • In description of BaseLine: • Tracker shielding; and • Rack shielding • In description of yoke: • Implementation in the MICE Hall • See Jason’s WORD file – still needs to be integrated in LaTeX • Cost and schedule • First sight of this today • Recommendation: • Will draft this following discussion today and later in the week • Sections needing editing: • Edits required to slim down BaseLine description to some extent

  3. Principal issues: • Baseline: • Results indicate that can shield at Step IV • How do we quantify the risk? • PRY required for Step V/VI because of coupling coil and the likelihood that SSB (e.g. ISIS control rooms) will see a significant field • PRY: • Results indicate that integration in the Hall at Step IV can be accommodated with modest modifications to existing infrastructure; • Significant modifications are required for Steps V/VI, but, we have time to plan and have a lot of engineering to do in any case • Schedule (and cost which in the end will influence the schedule): • Judgment call required when we see the schedule

  4. Decision making process: • This group needs to form its opinion: • Can this be done today? We’ll see • Then: • VC Thursday and EB Friday • MIPO: • Still don’t have an overall cost available. Breakdown in UK and US not available and resource-loaded schedule not available either. • In the end probably a MIPO decision • But this is the expert group and we need to express our opinion • If not today then I propose we make a special Mag. Shld. Meeting Monday 16Sep13 in the afternoon (14:00?)
