  1. 2008 Channel Partner Meeting OPC Feedback Session Hans-Georg Horn TSI - Aachen Particle Instrument CP’s EUMEA, Thessaloniki - August 24, 2008

  2. Objective • The purpose of this survey was to solicit your input towards the potential design of Optical Particle Counters (OPCs). • Based on your expertise in your respective country, you were asked to fill out the survey to the best of your knowledge.

  3. Participation • The following 7 distributors in EUMEA have replied: • Alava Ingenieros • AMS Laboratory Technolgies • Danalytic • J.J. BOS • Luchsinger • Meteo-Tech • Stoelzle Oberglas Austria • Thanks for taking the time, now let’s have a look at the results…

  4. What are the applications your customers use OPCs for?

  5. Customer requirements for Basic Aerosol Research

  6. Customer requirements for Environmental Monitoring

  7. Customer requirements for Air Pollution Research *) 1 x both but primarily number

  8. Customer requirements for Toxicology *) 1x probably density problem

  9. What operation mode is necessary?

  10. Estimate the Number of UnitsSold un Your Territory per Year Note: Spain seems to be the place to sell OPCs

  11. Importance of Price by Application

  12. Importance of Measurement Accuracy by Application

  13. Importance of Ease of Use by Application

  14. Importance of Vendor Reputation by Application

  15. Importance of Service & Support by Application

  16. Who are the players? • #1 Suppliers: • Met One (2x), PMS (2x), Grimm, Hach Ultra Metone • #2 Suppliers: • Grimm, PMS, Topas, Climet, Met One • Furthermore…. • Kanomax, FAS, Unitech, Lighthouse, IQAir

  17. If TSI introduced an OPC, what obstacles would hinder our ability to succeed? To overcome each obstacle, what actions does TSI need to take? • 20 years track record and standardization (Hach in SA, $1 to 2M sales per year) • Lack of knowledge on this particular market; would need information on applications • Two competitors have been in market for long time. They compete with aggresive prices and good specs. TSI should compete in this sense (Met One, Climet in Spain) • The competition in the field of OPCs is very intensive in Israel. On the other hand, TSI has very good reputation as the particle instrument manufacturer. Thus, the key parameter for the successful introducing of the TSI OPC into the Israeli market, will be a competitive price of the instrument. • Make Dustrak equivalent to gravimetric in Europe (EN12341) - Enlarge number of channels for the number - Simultaneously measure PM10/2.5/1
