This year, Pack 42 will be building our parade float with the help of all scouts and parents who have some time to donate. Our float theme will be “Race to Cub Scouting – It’s Fun At Every Turn”. This years float will be built and decorated with Pinewood Derby themes, Cub Scout recruiting themes and of course good old “Red White & Blue” themes. In addition to having the cub scouts build their float, we will also be having lively patriotic music on the float along with the scouts “gently tossing” candy to the kid’s in the crowd while riding on the float. Of course, we will still have our Pinewood Derby car that will be available for the scouts to ride in behind our float. All scouts are encouraged to participate in the Fourth of July activities. We have set up two different days of events in case there might be a conflict with other holiday activities. Participation in one or both of the activities will allow the scout to earn a point towards their Summer Pins as well as having them earn their rockets for the fall rocket launch. Please donate as much wrapped candy as possible by bringing it to the float building event or to the parade on the Fourth of July. Below is the time schedule for both events. Leaders and parents are encouraged to assist in both events please. Float Construction & Decorating Event Saturday, June 30 from 9:00 am-11:00 am The Hansen Home at 400 W.
