  2. Objective • To improve communications, increase participation, and increase donations for a University of Houston Alumni Tailgating and Cook-Off team.

  3. How are we to accomplish this?

  4. Improve Communications • The website will serve as a means to notify and advertise upcoming events. Important committee heads will have their contact information posted and registered members will receive direct mass emails containing information pertinent to the organization.

  5. Increase Participation • The best way to get people participating, either in person or remotely, is to allow for a digital commons where people can talk about all issues (past, present, and future) pertaining to the organization. To achieve this a forum will be installed along with picture gallery. All members will be able to post their own comments, discussions, and pictures.

  6. Increase Donations • Most successful organizations have successful incomes, and this one is no special case. Providing a means to allow people to contribute online from the convenience of their home or work will increase income.

  7. Website Contents • Main page • Introduction • Announcements • Calendar of Events • Main Menu • About Us • Detailed description of the organization and its goals • Contacts • Important members in leadership positions

Calendar • Larger version of calendar on main page with the ability to add events and print copies • Forum • Area where members can post and discuss topics about the organization. • Photo Gallery • Area where members can post and discuss photographs form 1855 Cooker events • Donations • Form connected to Paypal where anyone can donate to the organization • Register • Form for vistors to register to receive event notification emails and to receive permission to post in the forum and gallery.

  9. Platforms to be used • Graphics and animation • Photoshop, Flash, and possibly Plasma • Front end code • Html, vbscript or javascript, CSS, Actionscript (Flash) • Back end code • Perl with Joomla • Database • MYSQL
