  1. YARBROUGH'S YAK August 29, 2011 Sight Words Students will be tested on Friday. Students will have to say each word instantly, without sounding them out. Students will have to say these words. They will not have to write them. but not what all were we when your can said AR has begun.. Please read your child’s library books with them, This is an excellent opportunity for you to bond with your child and help them learn to read at the same time. The rule is that they have to read/listen to their books 3 times before they test! Spelling Words Students will be tested on Friday and will have to write each word correctly. pick pack tack back sack sick big is they walk We will continue Math Skills Drills. Help your child study test for speed. This week’s math flash cards: 2+1 2+6 2+2 2+7 2+3 2+8 2+4 2+9 2+5 2+10 and their reverse. These will be tested Friday. Homework Daily: Read, or have someone read to you for 10 – 15 minutes. Practice Math Facts and Sight Words. Monday-Thursday: Spelling Tic Tac Toe and Math Sheets. Wednesday- NO HOMEWORK Family Night Vocabulary Words help – to aid by useful work now – at this time play – to have fun too – also; more than enough want – to wish or hope • WHAT WILLWE BE STUDYING? • Math- subtraction • Reading/Grammar- Jack and Rick/Word Families • Social Studies- Producers and Consumers/Goods and Services Our Story this Week: Jack and Rick Lunch Menu: Monday- Chicken Nuggets Tuesday- Tacos Wed.- Turkey/cheese sub Thursday- Hot dog Friday- Chicken Tetrazzini Monday- HOLIDAY Marlow’s Mission is to provide a safe, supportive learning environment that will enable our students to grow academically & socially.
