  1. PDHpe - Rationale Miss Jenna Wade (2 Yellow)

  2. According to the syllabus - • “In our rapidly changing society there is increasing community awareness of the importance of healthy lifestyles. The resultant good health is characterised by improved quality of life, less sickness and disability, happier personal, family and social experiences and the opportunity to make choices in work and recreation”

  3. My aim as a teacher • My aim as a teacher is to embed the rationale behind PDHPE education within my classroom’s day to day activities. This doesn’t mean my students will spend the majority of their learning time outside playing sports. PDHPE takes a much broader approach where skills regarding cooperative learning, problem solving and communication can be linked in with other key learning areas such as literary, numeracy and ICT.

  4. Overview of learning in PDHPE K-6 • The subject matter of the PDHPE syllabus is extremely broad and aim to develop a vast number of life and movement skills within students. The subject matter is utilized as a tool to focus on specific strands of PDHPE content and then to be linked to 5 key skills which PDHPE aims to develop amongst students. The following slide will illustrate this breakdown in the form of a diagram.
